HGE hosts the LARGEST GAME DEVELOPMENT COMPETITION IN THE CENTRAL US and encourages professionals and students of all ages to participate in three areas of competition.

HGE provides a unique opportunity for students and indie developers to showcase their simulations and games to a large scale audience. These games or game concepts will then be judged by our panel of judges highlighting the up and comer in the Computer Simulation and Gaming filed here in the Heartland.

At this year's expo we will be highlighting immersive VR and AR experiences for games and entertainment.
We are encouraging teams developing VR /AR games or experiences to enter our Game Showcase

Competition Overview

The competition is divided into categories related to game development and design. These categories include:

Each completion category is further divided into ONE of the following groups:

  • Elementary
  • Secondary (Middle & High School)
  • Post-Secondary (College/University & Career Tech)
  • Indie Development (or non-student)
